Indonesian telecommunication company Indosat has officially launched the first Android-based service. The operator has a strong commitment to elaborate the service by providing Android Application Store.

On February 22-28, one of top operators in the country invited Sony Ericsson to participate in the Xperia X10 pre-order.

Android is a mobile operating system using modified Linux kernel, which is considered open source.

"Xperia X10 is the first Android-based cellphone in store for the Indonesian market," said Sony Ericsson Indonesia Head of Marketing, Djunadi Satrio on March 3.

Djunadi stated that Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will be available in the first quarter of 2010 in Black and Luster White.
